About Out the Box

Our studio provides personal training, yoga classes, yoga teacher training, Ortho-Bionomy®, injury prevention, nutrition, Pilates, and virtual coaching services. We are a small, people-first studio focused on individual client attention, whether it’s in a private session, a class setting, or during online consultations. For us, it’s about forging an ongoing lifestyle of health from the inside out.

We believe that fitness encompasses the mind, the body, and the spirit. Exercise can be both fun and healthy and should be accessible to everyone, regardless of current fitness level or previous exercise experience. Our goal at OTB is to empower you through movement to live your life to the fullest and to do what you love longer.

Atmosphere

We maintain a friendly, non-judgemental atmosphere where people of all ages and abilities are welcome. First timers, professional athletes, and everyone in between – there’s a place here.

Small Classes

Purposefully small classes at times convenient to our students enable teachers to provide individual guidance, suggest pose corrections, alternative methods, and other personal attention that large, crowded studios just cannot provide.

Community

Exercise, body work, yoga and self-care should be fun, healthy and positive. We strive to be a place where students find not only physical health, but a place where they can improve their mind/body connection and find better mental clarity through their practice.

Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or a first-timer, we’re dedicated to making you comfortable and helping you meet your goals. Our trained instructors and practitioners are here for one reason: you.

Our Owner

Joanie Barrett is the founder and manager of Out the Box Mind Body studio. She is a credentialed yoga teacher, personal trainer, and Ortho-Bionomy® Practioner LMT who loves to bring better quality of life to her clients through movement, healing, and healthful living.

Joanie is also a Stott Pilates instructor, Bones for Life Teacher in Training, Functional Range Conditioning® Practioner. Her yoga designation is 200 E RYT Anusara-Inspired, IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist.
